One Big Hypocrisy.

Sarah Palin's hunting trip has been a headline in the news. From the start, we all knew how she loves and brags about hunting. So why are most liberals disgusted by her publicizing it? Though I am completely against hunting, most animals that are hunted, like the Caribou Sarah Palin murdered, have had much better lives than the ones you eat and wear daily.

No matter what, when you strap on that leather sandal, bake some fish, scramble some eggs, drink a glass of milk, eat steak, it all still comes from a living being. They all gave up something in this process to feed and clothe you, whether giving up its own life without choice, or giving up its baby without choice. In this day and age using any living being for fashion and food is completely barbaric. I don't care if your food is supposedly humane (which is completely false, what is humane about murder?), organic, or you hunted it yourself, its still completely unnecessary and quite frankly, disgusting.

That animal SP killed had a MUCH better life than those billions of animals killed in factory farms.

If one eats or wears animal products, yet thinks Palins' hunting is awful why don't you put the hypocrisy down and go vegan? Boy, if you think hunting is bad you better open your eyes to all the cruelty and torture that goes behind the daily food you eat. That animal SP killed had a heavenly life compared to that poor factory farmed cow which went through living hell so you could have a glass of milk and eat her dead baby in that Veal Picata you just chowed down.

Obviously, I'm against hunting. Why? I think its repulsive to go out and shoot an innocent animal for the fun of it. Why not go target shooting or paint-balling? Oh and those pictures of hunters posing with their kills...disgusting. The animals look so majestic even in their death and the humans just look like douche bags.

A huge dilemma between people like me and some animal consumers is that they think it's their "God given" right to kill animals for fun and food (I can assume most people who hunt don't save the skins to make shoes, etc.) Ask yourself this: Why would God put living, breathing, feeling animals on Earth if we were just going to kill them. I mean, come on, that just doesn't make sense to me.

I know in the wild, animals will eat animals. Yes, I get that. It is my hope that we have evolved as humans and can see a future without using our fellow living beings for their flesh to eat even if it's 3 bucks a pound at your local supermarket.

So please, put the gun down, and get out of the meat and dairy aisles. GO paint balling or volunteer at an animal sanctuary instead! Yeah Sarah Palin, I'm talkin to you and your offspring!

Clara, this is a very well worded and oh-so-accurate post. I think it would make a fantastic editorial to the many articles you read about Sarah Palin hunting. Perhaps you should mail it in to the newspaper's editorial page. Consider it, because this post really was very enlightened.

Great blog post! Exactly what I was thinking! And even better now I have something to say when people tell me,"Animals eat each other. We're animals too,so we're supposed to eat other animals!"Thanks so much:)
